Music, Art & Culture Pop-ups in Inglewood & Ramsay

Surprising things happen in Calgary’s inner city communities of Inglewood & Ramsay. Coming soon, there will be even more to discover, when “pop-ups” (temporary installations, events and performances in unexpected places - whatever the creative folks in our communities, or anyone else who wants to play here, can dream up) start, well, popping up everywhere!

Find It is a new year-round series of “pop-ups” that will build on the quirky creative character of Inglewood & Ramsay, animate our streets and public spaces, engage professional artists, businesses and residents from the community and across Calgary, and bring more people to our inner-city village to share our lively history and culture.

Imagine lawn signs with QR symbols that take you on a treasure hunt. Imagine a comic strip stretching along a block of garages, a poem written in rocks on the river bank, bicycle tours with pop-up food stops, pop-up gardens and markets, a community dinner on a 100’ table in the park with celebrity chefs using local produce and a community-built clay oven, an iron chef-type competition for sculptors, opera on Scotsman’s Hill before the Stampede Grandstand Show, locally produced award-winning films on a giant inflatable screen, theme-based block parties, a wrestling ring en plein air, pop-up playgrounds designed by artists and children. Imagine anything – then let’s make it happen. Together!
